Privacy Policy

Here at Country Counselling we take your privacy very seriously. Any information gathered by our staff whether on our website or during your counselling sessions, will be protected and kept confidential under the Privacy Act. This means that your personal records are kept in a locked filing cabinet, and digitally password protected. If there is a need to discuss any of your personal information with a third party such as your healthcare provider or specialist, this will only be done under written and signed permission from you. Your records must be kept for a minimum of five years in accordance with the Public Records Act 2002.

The exceptions to the above policy include

l A reasonable suspicion of risk of harm to yourself or others, including children

l A court order or subpoena to release specific information
